Position Overview
The École is seeking a full-time American Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to teach 6th through 8th Grade.
The teacher will work closely with the French Science teacher to plan and deliver a cohesive, bilingual science program in English that aligns with and complements the French curriculum, and prepares our students to attend the best high schools in New York.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach science classes in English for 6th through 8th Grade
- Collaborate with the French Science teacher to ensure alignment between the American and French programs
- Demonstrate a strong passion for science and engage students through inquiry-based learning
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the American science curriculum
- Work with school leadership to ensure curricular continuity from Elementary through Middle School
- Collaborate with Middle School faculty on interdisciplinary projects and field trips
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development
- Monitor and support student academic progress, maintaining high expectations
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, assignments, and class activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in Science Education, Mathematics Education, Environmental Education, or a related field

- Salary range: $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience

We are recruiting a 4th Grade American Head Teacher for a maternity leave replacement during the first semester of the 2026–2027 school year (Monday, August 24, 2026, through Friday, December 18, 2026).
Responsibilities
Working closely with a French co-teacher, the American teacher will:
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in English Language Arts, mathematics, and social studies
- Create and maintain a nurturing, supportive, and engaging classroom environment\
- Build strong partnerships with families through open and collaborative communication
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment data
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and differentiate learning
- Uphold safety and security protocols for students, staff, and visitors
- Stay current with research and best practices in elementary education
- Participate in supervision duties, including lunch
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of elementary education principles and developmentally appropriate practices
- Enthusiastic and engaging presence with elementary-aged children

Education and Experience

We are currently recruiting a part-time school life assistant (SLA) for the current school year for our After-School program, at our Maternelle building (Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten) and Elementary & Middle School building (1st to 8th Grade).
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated school life assistant to join our After-School team from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (schedule can be adjusted depending on the week; approximately 15-20 hours per week). The assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our After-School programs at both buildings:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the Maternelle building (206 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10010), working with students from Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten.
- Thursday and Friday at the Elementary & Middle School building (115 East 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010 working with students from 1st to 8th Grade.
Duties include:
- Set up and prepare activity equipment (laptops, sports gear, instruments, etc.) ahead of each session
- Print and distribute attendance lists to instructors and teachers
- Orient instructors to their assigned locations
- Oversee child dispatch: ensure each student reaches their activity safely and efficiently
- Monitor running sessions: check in on classrooms to confirm activities are on track
- Support instructors with in-class management as needed
- Assist with diapering and personal care for younger children as needed
- Reset and tidy all classrooms and activity areas at program close
- Accompany children on transfers to off-site locations when required
Requirements:
- At least two years of recent experience working with children
- A passion for working with students from Nursery to 8th grade
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Highly skilled in collaborative teamwork within a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Proficiency in French is an asset but not required.
Salary range: $22-$25 per hour based on experience. Position starts ASAP.
