The school offers a bilingual academic program and has a student body of more than 350 students from Pre-Nursery through 8th Grade (ages 2-14).

Responsibilities include working closely with a French co-teacher to organize, plan, and execute developmentally appropriate educational activities for 5-year-old students.

[2024-2025] French Speech Therapist (Orthophoniste)

Position: Freelance French Speech Therapist (Orthophoniste

Location: New York City, Flatiron District 

School: The École from Pre-Nursery to 8th Grade

Start Date: September 2024

Compensation: Competitive, based on services rendered, paid directly by families.

We are looking for a freelance French speech therapist (orthophoniste) to partner with us around our students and families to support them in their academic journey. The orthophoniste will be able to work in our school facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Provide therapy and interventions to individuals with speech and language difficulties.
  • Collaborate with other professionals within the school, such as educators, the Educational Support Team, and families, to ensure holistic care and support for students.
  • Keep detailed records of patient progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in orthophonie or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification/licensure as an orthophoniste in Europe.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in French, both verbal and written.
