Nursery to 8th Grade Uniform
Students wear a full uniform daily. Non-uniform items are not permitted, so make sure to purchase garments for every season / all types of weather!
Families may choose from three styles:
- Formal
- Casual
- Physical Education (P.E.)
The Uniform Guide on our website outlines each style.
P.E. Uniform Days
Students should wear their P.E. uniform on days when they have sport class.
- Maternelle students wear the P.E. uniform on parcours / obstacle course days
- Elementary & Middle School students wear the P.E. uniform on their scheduled sport days
- Students should always wear sneakers on days they have parcours / sport days
Maternelle teachers will let class parents know which day is parcours day at the start of the school year. Elementary & Middle School class schedules will be published in the first Memo of the school year (Tuesday, September 2), and will also be found in students’ planners/agendas (2nd through 8th Grade). If students participate in After-School sports activities, we recommend they wear their P.E. uniform and sneakers on those days as well. On non-sport days, families are free to choose between the P.E., casual and formal uniform styles.
Formal Uniform Days
Students must wear their formal uniform on the following days in 2025-2026:
- Monday, September 8
- Monday, October 6
- Friday, November 21
- Wednesday, December 17
- Tuesday, January 20
- Friday, February 26
- Tuesday, March 24
- Thursday, May 21
Additional Notes:
- If Maternelle or Elementary students have parcours / sport class on a formal day, sport activities will be adapted to their attire. Students should wear sneakers with their formal uniform if they have sport / parcours on a formal day.
- Middle School students with sport class on formal days should wear their P.E. uniform to school and bring their formal uniform to change into at Baruch College before returning to school.
- Most monthly Elementary & Middle School assemblies fall on formal days; students must wear their formal uniform as they may be invited to present or receive awards.
- Students are welcome to wear their formal uniform on any non-sport day, and teachers may also request it for field trips or special events.
- For the past four years, families have voted to wear the formal uniform on picture days.
Newly enrolled Nursery to 8th Grade students will receive a formal uniform accessory (tie, scarf, pocket square, or hairband) before the start of school. Replacements and additional accessories are available for purchase via the Focus School Store.
