It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been two weeks since our last update—and things have continued to move forward at a fast pace. In fact, a quick look at our construction meeting notes from February shows that we are slightly ahead of schedule!

Here’s a look at what’s been happening:

  • The École colors have started to appear on the walls.
  • The new storefront—you’ll remember from our last letter that the original one had arrived on time but was damaged – has arrived and is now up.
  • The stadium seating in the lobby is in place.
  • Some of the carpeting has been laid (there will be carpeting  in the library and the offices)
  • Doors throughout the space have been installed.

Tuesday was also a momentous day: we passed our main inspection by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY)—a crucial step toward ensuring the building’s safety and readiness for occupancy.

This inspection is part of a rigorous process that verifies the effectiveness of our fire safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, emergency exits, and evacuation plans. Passing this check signals that our infrastructure meets the high standards required to protect our students, staff, and visitors.

While additional inspections lie ahead, each one brings us closer to our final Certificate of Occupancy. This first approval is a significant vote of confidence in the work completed so far, and we are deeply grateful to our facilities team, contractors, and safety consultants for helping us reach this important milestone.
