Located in New York City’s Flatiron District, The École is an independent French-American school offering a bilingual education for students from age two through 8th Grade.
From Maternelle through Middle School, our students learn in both French and English, combining the rigor of the French curriculum with the creativity and inquiry-based approach of American education. Our goal is true bilingualism and biliteracy: students learn not only to speak, read, and write confidently in two languages, but to learn, think, and express themselves in both. This dual perspective is at the heart of an École education. Moving naturally between two languages and two educational cultures challenges students to approach ideas from different angles, develop intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. Within our close-knit international community, we prepare students to become knowledgeable, confident, responsible, and compassionate young people—ready for the next stage of their education and for an increasingly interconnected world.
