Each semester The École offers a different set of after-school activities, selected based on student and parent interest. Activities fall into one of the following categories: Academic & Character, Art & Music, Sports & Fitness, and Science & Technology. Led either by one of our own teaching staff, or by a specialist partner organization—such as The Coder School, Swan Kids, Soccer Shots, CinemaKidz, Tennis Innovators and others—each is designed to align with the particular developmental levels of our Maternelle, Elementary, and Middle School students, building off the work they are doing in their everyday classrooms.
At The École, we’re particularly proud of some unique options we’ve introduced for students —such as Chefs for Kids or The École Soccer Program with the FFF for our Elementary students!

Programs
Academics & Character
Our Academic and Character activities give our students additional time, assistance, and experience to understand and master critical classroom skills and explore additional languages in a more relaxed learning environment. These activities support our older students as they both take on increasingly challenging school subjects and standardized tests and become role models for The École’s younger grades.
- Study Hall,
- Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic
- Le Petit Atelier, Raconte moi une histoire, l’Atelier Biblio
- Chefs for Kids, Little Ecologists, Junior CEOs…
Art & Music
Building from our regular school day Art & Music program, these creative activities let our younger students more deeply explore their imagination and talents as individual artists and group performers. They also allow older students to take more charge of their creativity as they grow older, providing opportunities for them to practice individual musical talents or come together in groups, whether to produce their own musical or write and perform their theatre pieces.
- Arts, Choir, Clay Work
- Knitting & Crocheting, Comics, Manga & More

- Music Band “mon premier groupe,” Theater, Group, and Private Music Lessons…
Sports & Fitness
Individual and group Sports & Fitness activities ensure we’re teaching students how to keep their bodies and minds healthy and strong—and how to keep competition fair and friendly. For our older students, Sports & Fitness activities focus both on individual skill-building and group team-building, including opportunities to play on The École Falcons team against other NYC schools. This helps them become more confident athletes when facing more competitive situations.
- Team Sports, Basketball, The École Soccer Program with FFF
- Tae Kwon do, Yoga, Gymnastics & Tumbling
- Dance, Ballet, Jazz
- Tennis, Fencing…
Science & Technology
Designed to inspire curiosity of mind, our Science & Technology activities start with some of our younger students’ favorite toys and topics and turn them into exciting opportunities to learn how the world works. Designed to inspire the scientist in every one of our older students, these activities provide opportunities to become more involved in a variety of current areas of great interest, from environmental science to engineering technology.
- Lego, Chess, Wild Sciences Experiments
- Video Game Design, Scratch Coding, Intro to Python
- Robotics, Architecture, Racing Adventures
