1st Grade Arrival and Drop-Off
Unlike in Maternelle, parents and guardians of Elementary School students drop off their children at the school entrance each morning. The entrance doors open at 8:05 a.m., and students then proceed independently to their classrooms.
To support a smooth transition from Kindergarten to 1st Grade and to help children acclimate to their new environment, 1st Grade parents are invited to accompany their child to the classroom from Tuesday, September 2, through Friday, September 5. During this first week, parents are welcome to help their child unpack and settle in, and may remain in the classroom until 8:30 a.m. 1st Grade families who are new to The École will be greeted and guided to the 1st Grade classrooms by their Friendly Falcon–a Middle School student who has volunteered to welcome new students and help them settle into life at The École.
Starting Monday, September 8, all 1st Grade students will follow the standard Elementary School drop-off procedure. Parents will drop off their child at the school entrance at 8:05 a.m., and children will walk to their classrooms on their own.
1st Grade Dismissal and Pick-Up
During the first week of school, 1st Grade students will be dismissed at the regular time of 3:35 p.m. Parents should pick up their children at the school entrance.
