Competitive Cheerleading Team Tryouts
The École’s Competitive Cheerleading Team is open to students in 4th through 8th Grade. Led by Coach Way, the team trains throughout the school year and represents The École at regional cheerleading competitions. Participation provides students with the opportunity to develop athletic ability, teamwork, discipline, and performance skills in a competitive environment.
The cheerleading program is offered free of charge, in keeping with the school’s philosophy for Falcons athletics.
Tryouts are open to all students in 4th through 8th Grade. Following the tryouts, Coach Way will select the members of the team based on overall team needs as well as individual performance. The coach’s decision is final.
Participation on the Competitive Cheerleading Team requires a significant commitment. Because routines are learned and refined as a team, attendance at all practices and competitions is essential. Cheerleaders are expected to:
- Attend all scheduled Monday after-school practices.
- Attend required practice sessions held during recess.
- Participate in all scheduled competitions, which are mandatory team events.
The team typically competes in three to four regional cheerleading competitions held on weekends during the winter season. Competition dates will be shared with families as soon as they have been confirmed.

- Thursday, September 10, 3:45–5:45 p.m.
- All interested 4th through 8th Grade students are welcome to attend the tryouts (please complete this form).
Regular Practices
- Mondays, 3:45–5:45 p.m., beginning September 14
- Additional practice sessions will take place during recess.
Registration and After-School Coordination
As with the Falcons sports teams, we understand that some students may not make the squad. Parents/guardians are therefore encouraged to register for Monday After-School activities when registration opens on Monday, July 13 at 12:00 p.m. (EDT). If your child makes the cheer squad, you will be refunded for any After-School activities missed.
