SMS Consent & Information

ECOLE INTERNATIONALE DE NEW YORK DBA THE ÉCOLE

SMS Consent & Information
The École — School Text Message Program

Last updated: May 14, 2026

1. About this program

The École operates a non-emergency SMS (text message) program to communicate with parents and guardians of enrolled students about day-to-day school operations. This line is operated by the school administration and is separate from any emergency alert line.

The school SMS number is +1 (980) 983-2653 (vanity: +1 980 98-ECOLE).

This program is operated by The École, located at 115 East 22nd Street, New York, New York 10010, in coordination with our messaging service provider Twilio, Inc.

2. What messages you will receive

When you opt in to this program, you may receive text messages relating to:

  • After-School Occasional Registration — class confirmations, schedule changes, payment confirmations and links, waitlist notifications.
  • General school operational notifications — scheduling reminders, school life updates, operational announcements.

Messages are sent only as needed and only for the purposes listed above. We do not send marketing, advertising, or promotional content through this line.

3. How to opt in

To opt in, text the keyword JOIN to +1 (980) 983-2653 from the mobile phone on which you wish to receive messages.

The keywords ECOLE and AFTERSCHOOL also work — all three are accepted and are case-insensitive.

Within a few seconds, you will receive an automatic confirmation reply:

“The Ecole: You’re opted-in to After-School & school SMS updates. Msg freq varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.”

Each parent or guardian must opt in from their own mobile number. Opting in is optional — parents who do not opt in continue to receive all After-School information by email.

4. Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your child’s enrolled activities and the school calendar. Typical volume is a few messages per week during active After-School sessions, and fewer outside of those periods.

5. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. The École does not charge a fee for receiving SMS messages, but your wireless carrier’s standard message and data rates apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. How to opt out

You may unsubscribe from this program at any time by replying STOP to any message received from us. The following keywords are also accepted: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, REVOKE.

You will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages from this program.

If you later wish to opt back in, simply text START or JOIN to +1 (980) 983-2653 again.

7. Help

For help with the SMS program, reply HELP or INFO to any message. You will receive the following automatic reply:

“The Ecole SMS help: For After-School info, email bonjour@theEcole.org or call (646) 410-2238. Reply STOP to cancel. theecole.org/sms-consent/”

You may also contact the school directly:

  • Email: bonjour@theEcole.org
  • Phone: +1 (646) 410-2238
  • Address: 115 East 22nd Street, New York, New York 10010

8. Privacy and data handling

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data collected through this program are used solely for the purposes described on this page.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers that help us deliver SMS (e.g., Twilio, Inc.) process this data strictly on our behalf under contractual confidentiality.

Full details are available in our Privacy Policy (see Section XIV — SMS / Text Message Communications) and our Terms of Service.

9. Eligible carriers and supported devices

SMS service is available through major US wireless carriers. The program supports standard SMS-capable mobile phones. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Questions
