It is hackneyed to say of bilingual schools that they offer ‘the best of two cultures — but at The École, this was truly the case. Until joining the school at the ages of 8 and 7, my daughters had been schooled only in France, although neither parent is French (one of us is American and the other Israeli). We wanted to retain the continuity of their French education but also gain the more creative and open curricular features of the American system. The École really delivered both—in a truly international context. We were one of several families that had no French family roots, but who were connected to one another through the Franco-American education that the school so admirably provides to its children.
